On behalf of Cottage Surveys.com registered HETAS engineers will carry out safety inspections and certification of chimneys and solid fuel installations for home owners or prospective purchasers.
The safety inspection will detail chimney stacks, appliances, flues, ventilation, roof voids and terminals, to confirm they all comply with regulations concerning safe operation.
On completion of the above safety checks the HETAS engineer will accurately record the findings on a recognised commissioning certificate.
This certificate is a useful tool for sellers as it removes doubt from the
prospective purchaser as to the suitability for continued use of open fires.
Open fire inspections are undertaken in order to discover whether the fires or woodstoves at a given property are safe and working properly.
Appliances, pipe work, and chimney stacks are checked during the course
of the inspection and a report issued back to the client confirming the
current state of the installation and providing recommendations for any
remedial works required.
